Our mission for #MeditateICT is to create a community-driven initiative that brings transformative meditative practices to Wichitans from all walks of life.
As part of this mission to we are dedicated to providing at least one FREE meditative event per month throughout the city as well as showcasing other events that empower our community to cultivate inner peace, mindfulness, and well-being.
We invite you to join us on this collective and transformative journey, as we aspire to be a catalyst for personal growth, ignite inner transformation, and contribute to the development of a more mindful Wichita. #MeditateICT inspires to cultivate a more peaceful and mindful society, both within our local community of Wichita, KS and beyond. Our foundation is built upon the transformative, well-researched, ancient practice of meditation, which has the power to help us "change our minds" and become consciously responsive instead of reactive.
Our overarching and enduring objective is to make a significant impact on the rate of suicide affecting our city.
#MeditateICT is dedicated to connecting our community to enlightening events that offer and showcase sustainable tools, exercises and practices for our community to become more meditative.
At the core of #MeditateICT's foundation lies the transformative practice of meditation. Meditation empowers individuals to become familiar with our mind and its processes so that we can have increased agency over where we focus. This is what meditation is: "to study or become familiar with". To learn more about why it is important to become meditative, go here. When we become familiar with our minds, we learn how to "change our minds" and cultivate a conscious responsive nature rather than a reactive one, allowing us to raise our consciousness.
The offerings will be as diverse as our community and be a range of transformative healing modalities like yoga, tai chi, dance, meditation, sound healing, somatic movement, art therapy, journaling, circle, and other proven healing arts.
These events serve as powerful platforms to practice our skills, tools, and learn new techniques that aid us in regulating the nervous system and cultivating a meditative mindset, not to mention being GREAT community connection points. (Hello. Are you ready to find your people?)
We are committed to accessibility, offering both free and donation-based events every month.

FREE summer meditation series at Mark Arts
The final Saturday of each month from June thru September from 9 a. m.-10 a.m. weather permitting, meditation will be held outdoors in the uplifting ambiance of the Stickworks sculpture. This series offers an opportunity to connect with nature and cultivate inner peace while being surrounded by art and creation.
These events are FREE.
The Month's Events
"State of Mental Health in America 2023" ranked Kansas the lowest of all 50 states for mental healthcare.
Suicide is the 10th leading cause of death in the United States. Last year, the Wichita community lost 92 individuals to suicide.
These alarming statistics shed light on the urgency needed for transformative change in our a community, which inspired this initiative.
We want to help our community create greater resiliency over stress by highlighting meditative practices.
Our goal for this 2023 is to inspire and encourage members of our community to embrace the practice of becoming meditative.
By incorporating meditation into our daily lives, we can tap into a powerful tool for mental well-being, self-discovery, and inner peace.
Join us at events throughout Wichita to feel the benefits of becoming meditative & bridge the gap between awareness and action.
